Local Area
The Goomeri district has much to offer the visitor – unspoiled forestry areas populated by the native flora and fauna of the region; scenic drives; vineyards and wineries; historic homesteads; reminders of pioneering days such as panning for gold; varied and interesting arts and crafts; delightful country gardens; bush walking; trail riding and much more.
In the township you’ll find a friendly welcome and service to match. Take a walking tour and visit the war memorials (Hall of Memory and ‘Lest We Forget’ clock), as well as fine old homes and churches. End your tour with refreshments at the local snack bars, Pumpkin Pie coffee shop, Goomeri Lunchbox or the Grape and the Olive.
Why not visit and stay a while!
A host of attractions take place each year including the now famous Pumpkin Festival held on the last Sunday in May each year and attracting some 14,000.

Booubyjan (30km north) is the site of Booubyjan Homestead, one of the district's original stations. Booubyjan now operates as a museum and function venue and is open to the public. Booubyjan also has its own hall, tennis court, community centre and schoolhouse. |
The South Burnett Region in which Goomeri township is located, is the home of Australia's peanut and navy bean industries. It's also Queensland's largest wine producing area and has some of the best inland waterways in the State. Not surprisingly, there's lots to see and do - and something for every interest |
